Simply hammer this bullet on to the broken end of your 7/16" duct rod, and you're ready to go again. The inside portion of the tip is tapered and barbed, so no epoxy or stripping of the external sheath is required.
Then you can wait until you get back to the shop to properly splice the broken ends with the splice tube and epoxy.
